We were in Carlsbad (right down from Oceanside) the 13th-the 18th! It's about a mile and a half walk up from that pier. One night we go to Ruby's for shakes and fries. We go every year to Carlsbad but I think I'm not going to go anymore because it is so hard with kids (the camping).
